The significance of this event
The 2010 CANA conference is the peak annual event for non-government organisations working on climate change in Australia.
This is the only annual event where over 100 representatives of climate NGOs gather to update climate policies, upskill on new developments in climate problems and solutions, plan campaign and research strategies, and network with each other and with leading government, academic and corporate climate change stakeholders.
Held just two months the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Copenhagen, this gathering provided the most up-to-date developments coming out of Copenhagen, will explain what occurred, and the otucomes will guide the planning of the climate movement's response and next steps in seeking a global climate deal.
2010 will also herald a Federal election, and CANA members participated in workshops to prepare policy positions and strategies towards this election.
Outcomes
The CANA Conference member-only outcomes are detailed on a dedicated web page.
